Tablet Downtime Auto-Labeller
Automatically label downtimes during setups and beyond
Product Update (July 2025)
The Auto-Labeller is a new feature on the tablet, designed to increase the percentage of labelled downtimes whilst reducing the amount of user input required by operators.
In short, it allows you to choose a downtime reason and a duration of time (e.g. Setup for the next 45 minutes). Any downtimes that occur during this window will be automatically labelled, without requiring operator input. Of course you can change the reason afterwards if you want to.
The Auto-Labeller is particularly useful when setting up machinery, at breaks and shift changeovers, and when one operator is running multiple machines.

Top tip - make the demo full screen using the control in the top right.
Enable The Auto-Labeller On Your Tablets
By default, the Auto-Labeller is switched off for all tablets. However, you can turn it on yourself by going to Settings > Downtime and using the toggle switch (pictured below).
You can also choose a maximum duration for the Auto-Labeller. This caps the length of time which the Auto-Labeller can apply for, to ensure accuracy.
Auto-Labeller Use Cases
For Machine Setups
When setting up machinery, there can be lots of little downtimes, all of which have the same reason - "Setup". You can avoid labelling each of these downtimes individually by simply turning on the Auto-Labeller for the duration of the setup, reducing tablet input and allowing operators to focus.
For Breaks and Changeovers
You can start the Auto-Labeller 5 or 10 minutes before a break and set it for the full duration you'll be away from your machine. That way, you can head off for a cuppa immediately when your break starts without any further input needed on the tablet.
The same approach can be applied at a shift changeover - simply start the Auto-Labeller with a "Shift Changeover" reason before you leave the factory and it will handle the rest.
For Running Many Machines
When one operator is running multiple machines, it can feel like a juggling act to keep the downtime reasons labelled correctly. To make this easier, simply use the Auto-Labeller when stepping away from a machine for an extended period.
Top Tips
Tip 1: The Auto-Labeller will work even if the tablet gets powered off.
Tip 2: The Auto-Labeller can be started from a desktop computer as well as on the tablet.
Tip 3: The Auto-Labeller can be started at any point, regardless if your machine is in uptime or downtime. Uptime will occur as normal but is effectively ignored by the Auto-Labeller.
