Multi Factor Authentication (MFA) with FourJaw

Enable multi factor authentication via email or mobile app

To add extra security to your FourJaw user account, you can enable Multi Factor Authentication (MFA) via email or authenticator app.

When enabled, you will be asked for a 6 digit security code when you log in, in addition to your existing username and password.

See who has already set up MFA

You can see which users on your FourJaw dashboard have set up MFA by going to:

Settings > Users

In the table of Active Users, you will see an indicator next to each user saying if they have enabled MFA.

Please note that each user must configure MFA individually using the steps below.

Configure MFA in Account Settings

To enable MFA via email or an authenticator app, first navigate to the profile icon in the top right of your FourJaw dashboard.

In the dropdown, click "Account Settings".

On the following page, you will find two buttons - one to configure MFA via email, and another to configure MFA via authenticator app. Choose the most convenient and click the relevant button.

Configure MFA via email

You will be presented with the instructions to configure MFA via email.

In Step 1, click the "Send Code" button to trigger an email to your registered email address (i.e. the email address you used to sign up for FourJaw). Then, open your email inbox to find an email that looks like this:

In Step 2, please enter this 6 digit code from your email into the box and click "Validate Code".

Once the code has been validated successfully, you will have completed the configuration process. Next time you log in, you will be asked for a 6 digit code sent via email.

Configure MFA via authenticator app

You will be presented with the instructions to configure MFA via an authenticator app.

You will need to have a smartphone with an authenticator application downloaded.

Popular choices include:

In Step 1 you will open your chosen authenticator app on your smartphone, and in step 2, you scan the QR code presented on screen to add FourJaw to your authenticator app.

After scanning the QR code, your authenticator app will give you a 6 digit security code. Enter this 6 digit code into the text box in Step 3 and click "Validate Code".

Once the code has been validated successfully, you will have completed the configuration process. Next time you log in, you will be asked for a 6 digit code generated from the authenticator app you have just configured.

Switching Method and Removing MFA

After configuring MFA via email or authenticator app, you can revisit the "Account Settings" under your profile in the top right of your FourJaw dashboard.

Here you will be presented with two buttons. The "Remove MFA" button will remove the need for Multi Factor Authentication, returning you to the original login expereince which only required a username and password.

The other button will allow you to switch from using email MFA to instead use an authenticator app, or vice versa.
